Ian believes the preservation of models created by ammeters and master craftsman alike is of the ut- most importance. The skills, passion, and craftsmanship the creators of these models have shown is part of maritime history. If you visit any museum in the world there is a pretty good chance there will be model boats on display. No computers, laser cutters, or 3D printers were used, just plain old fash- ioned skill and creativity using whatever materials were at hand. Any chance I get to handle a model made by someone be it 50 years ago or hopefully even older is something I both treasure and enjoy.
